As a hockey club, our club is primarily about playing hockey! Being one of the biggest adult clubs in Christchurch we are able to provide a well-rounded social side as well.
Trials and Presidents Shout: This kicks off the year with a bang! Following trials members have the opportunity to mix and mingle, meet their new team mates and enjoy some beverages in the late summer sun!
Flat Crawl: Has now become an key fixture in the UC Hockey social calendar, with keen volunteers letting club members loose on their flats. With a unique theme every year, games and team antics rift, the flat crawl is a good time had by all.
Wine Tour: This sees our club’s members all pile into a party bus and take off to North Canterbury to enjoy the finest wine our region has to offer.
Student support: The best thing about playing for UC compared with those “other” hockey clubs is that we understand the student lifestyle. We know that students have essays, tests, and exams, and are able to help accordingly. Our club members are not just students, but professionals too, many of them are alumni of the University and have been where you are now, and are all too willing to offer some free study tips or tuition when needed.
