We aim to offer a friendly introduction to and experience of the world of wine for UC students. There are regular themed tastings (about every three weeks) and other events aimed at offering you the opportunity to discover your interest in wine.
We cater to a wide range of wine knowledge levels; most who join are beginners but soon learn! This is a great starting point to a fascinating hobby.
Cost: Membership fee is $5 for students, $10 for non students. $10-$25 per tasting depending on the theme/wines of the tasting. Each tasting is $5 cheaper for club members.
Consider joining if...
You like wine, or think you might! You want to try lots of different wines without blowing your budget. You want to learn more about wine in a friendly environment.
Our first two tastings for the year are always an introduction to wine varieties, both White and Red, and how to taste them.
Whites 101: our classic first event each year, this tasting offers an introduction to white wines, specifically focusing on common white wine varieties from New Zealand.
Reds 101: the second half of our regular start-of-year events, this tasting provides an introduction to red wines, and will teach you the basics of red wine and the characteristics of the more well-known varietals.
After our 101s we move into more specific tastings, and some more casual events, examples of which are listed below:
