The Canterbury University's one and only climbing club! We are interested in all things climbing from bouldering to multipitch trad routes. Whether you're looking to try out climbing for the first time, or you've been doing it for years, we are the club for you! We have many trips each year (Overnight bouldering, Paynes at Easter), and special deals with Uprising and YMCA to keep you going throughout the year.

If you are interested in climbing, keen to give it a go for the first time or you are an experienced climber looking to network with other climbers
We provide instruction and gear hire free of charge. This includes: boulder-pads, ropes, harnesses, belay devices, quick draws, helmets, trad racks, etc. If you aren’t sure what any of that stuff is, don’t worry there are plenty of friendly, enthusiastic club members willing to share and help.

We meet for FREE bouldering and indoor climbing twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm at the Rec Center Climbing Wall. This is a great place to challenge yourself, meet other climbers, plan trips, and keep fit whilst having fun.
As a Club we run several large group trips that aren’t to be missed. These include:
Real Rock Intro Day: An introduction to outdoor climbing, Saturday 25th February.
Cass Trip: Castle Hill and Flock Hill Bouldering, 11th-12th March.
Paynes Ford, Golden Bay: Easter Weekend, 14th-17th April.
Hanging Rock: Term 4, dates to be confirmed.
Bouldering Competitions: Rec Centre, second Tuesday of every term.
