O.Week
Off to UC in the new year? UCSA O.Week features two jam-packed weeks of events, activations, expos, and giveaways to welcome you to UC. Whether you’re a first year or postgrad, domestic, or international student, there's something for everyone! Look out for: free food, giveaways, Clubs Days, Toga, festivals, a wellness expo and more.
MONO
MONO is our weekly gig night, hosted in the Ngaio Marsh every Thursday during term. Free for UC students and with a minimal door charge for their mates, MONO brings you quality local and international acts. Bring your proof of age ID and UC student card to skip the door fee. See ya there.
International Events
UC is home to a vibrant international student community, and a busy events calendar year-round. We celebrate this rich cultural mix with events like Lunar New Year, Africa Day, International Gala Ball, Language Exchange Evenings, quizzes, food festivals, and more.
ANZAC Day
Each year, the UCSA hosts an ANZAC Day commemoration that brings together our community – staff, students, and the public – to honour those who have served. All are welcome to the service, which includes speeches, choir performances, and wreath laying, followed by tea and coffee.
Arts Fest
Arts Fest embraces all branches of creative expression and imagination. The event is a celebration of the Arts, a field that allows us to explore and affirm unique expressions of self, community and culture. Check out our events calendar showcasing UC's awesome Clubs and talented students!
Stress Less Week & Exam Breakfasts
Held during study week in June and October each year, Stress Less Week features a series of FREE random acts of kindness thanks to the UCSA Student Exec. Think: free food and drink, voucher giveaways, and more.
Once exams start, we head to the kitchen and cook up our free Exam Breakfasts for anyone with an early morning test (these are super popular and available while stocks last).
RE:ORI
It's your big welcome back to campus. Delivering all the goodness of gigs, wellness expos, warm fuzzies (giveaways!), and more.
Grad Ball
Graduating in August? Celebrate in style at our annual Grad Ball! Held in Haere-roa, it's a night to remember. Arrive to a red carpet entrance, with champagne on arrival; then continue into the night with canapés, cocktails, and live music. Make sure your grab a ticket and show up in your Sunday best.
Student Choice Awards
Since 1995, the UCSA Student Choice Awards (formerly Staff of The Year Awards) have given students the opportunity to nominate and celebrate UC staff members who have made a real difference to their uni experience. This includes lecturers, supervisors, administrators, and other non-academic staff members.
Supreme Club Awards
Supreme Clubs Awards are a massive celebration of all the amazing things clubs do at UC, from events and initiatives to exciting marketing.
Blues Awards
Since 1913 the Blues Awards have been recognising and celebrating student achievement. Since it's origins as a prestigious sports awards ceremony, the event has evolved to include community engagement and the arts.
Tea Party
Our legendary Tea Party is your reward for making it through a year of lectures. Grab your best costume and get ready for the biggest party of the year! Haere-roa lawn plays host to 3500 UC students, three epic stages, and a massive line-up of exceptional artists. Whether you love DNB, bands, hip hop, or house – there's something for you!
