Pendulum (DJ Set)

Formed in 2002 by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul ‘El Hornet’ Harding, Pendulum quickly took to the road, touring across their native home in Perth to internationally acclaimed clubs and festivals around the release of their seminal debut album ‘Hold Your Colour’. After relocating to the UK and forming the Pendulum live band, El Hornet took the reins on the Pendulum DJ Sets and has spent the past 15 years performing at some of the biggest electronic festivals in the world including Liquicity, Let It Roll, Rampage, Dreambeach and EDC.

Now alternating between the individual band members, and sometimes performing as a trio, the Pendulum DJ sets have taken on a life of their own with a huge global presence and genre spanning shows ranging from drum and bass, house, techno, tech house breaks and hardcore.

Sachi

Creating lifelong connections and memories by way of the dance floor, SACHI have risen from being two teenage friends with a passion for dance music to one of New Zealand’s most celebrated live acts. Dominating festivals around the world, their success has taken SACHI to some of the biggest global stages including Belgium’s Tomorrowland festival 2022- which saw the pair making history as the first New Zealand act to play one of the most prestigious electronic music festivals in the world.

Injecting their productions with live instrumentation and theatricality, SACHI’s live show synergy finds the duo swapping between DJing, playing bass, drums, keys, and live vocals, forming a non-traditional electronic experience that immerses its audience in a fusion of mediums.

Andromedik

At the age of 25, rising drum 'n' bass artist Andromedik has already made quite an imprint on the scene. The Belgian artist distinguished himself from many of his peers with an almost festival-like sound design, taking 2023 by storm with two spectacular debut performances on Tomorrowland’s iconic Mainstage as the first drum 'n' bass artist in five years.

With a string of dancefloor hits like 'Forever,' 'First to Go,' and 'Take Me,' and collabs with several talented musicians such as globally chart-topping artist Lost Frequencies on the Deluxe Mix of his recent hit single 'The Feeling,' Andromedik has achieved over 60 million streams and counting on Spotify alone.

With his rising popularity, it is no surprise you will hear Andromedik’s songs playing on international radio such as BBC Radio 1, Studio Brussel, and George FM. All this talent has led to a Drum & Bass Arena Awards nomination for ‘World’s Best Newcomer’ in 2019. With all the energy he puts in his music, as well as in his performance on stage, we can easily say Andromedik is destined to be a future headliner.

Coterie

COTERIE, a 5 piece band spearheaded by 4 Maori brothers of Te Aupouri, Nga Puhi & Ngai Te Rangi living on the Coastlines of West Australia who are rapidly building a reputation as one of most electrifying live acts on both sides of the Tasman.

Their live shows harness a lifetime of musical connection that evoke feelings you can only get when 15 years of jamming starts to speak for itself.

Immersed in a culture of surf and art, the band have developed a unique blend of soulful rock music with perfect 4 part harmonies that have audiences demanding more!

Issey Cross

Hailing from London, With her hair dyed half pink, half green like Harley Quinn’s alt-pop alter ego, and hands dripping with chunky rings and jewellery,21-yearold Issey Cross knows how much music can change your whole attitude, and now she’s aiming to bring a legion of young women along with her too.

Breakthru hit 'Used To This' with legendary DnB producer Wilkinson spent 14 weeks in the UK OCC Top 40 and 12 weeks on BBC Radio 1 Playlist. New single 'Oh My' with Luude feat Moby starts the year as Radio1 Hottest record on dance anthems, Triple J single of the week amongst a huge ground swell of support from DSP and media-other upcoming singles with Nathan Dawe, Bru C, Clean Bandit, Elley Duhe , Hybrid Minds and others all point to a very exciting 2023 for Issey both as an artist and a songwriter(currently working w Ella Henderson, Piri, Venbee, Joel Corry, LF system , Lewis Tompson, Medusa etc)look out for more new solo music from Issey via Atlantic Records in 2023.

Lauren Gin

Lauren Gin is an electronic music producer, DJ and songwriter from Tāmaki Makaurau. She has become a renowned figure in the electronic music scene, captivating audiences with her blend of heavy Trap and Future Bass. Inspired by producers such as Skrillex, Flume, and Quix, Lauren Gin is breaking down barriers in a male-dominated industry as a third-generation Chinese-Kiwi woman.

When she’s not on the stage Lauren is dedicated to supporting wāhine (women) in music and business, and her hard work has been recognized by Forbes in their 30 under 30 for her contributions to supporting women-led startups.

Her electrifying performances have earned her a coveted spot at some of the biggest festivals in New Zealand, including Rhythm & Vines, Splore, Bay Dreams, Hidden Valley, and Electric Avenue.

Mim Jensen

Named by NZ Herald as “one of the most compelling front-people in Aotearoa”, Mim Jensen is an Otautahi artist making waves in the national and international indie scene at a very quick rate. Jensen’s first single “Germaphobe” achieved high-level market success on various social media platforms, in particular Tiktok. This propelled her forward and allowed her to take on bigger stages and larger shows at rapid pace. Her music is fueled with heartache filled harmonies and destructive lead guitar lines, and Jensen’s shows are a sweeping spectrum of indie rock and passion that are not to be missed out on.

Jensen has recently released her debut EP “Emotional Affair”. Her recorded music encapsulates her live sound very well, leading to a success that has enabled her to perform with her band at many well beloved NZ venues, and tour alongside artists such as The Butlers, Great Gable, Teenage Dads, and The Rubens. Mim Jensen has a promising future ahead, with follow up releases and international tour plans in place for early 2024.

Papa Nugs

Papa Nugs is a London based multi genre producer, DJ & record collector with a bag traversing trance, techno, electro, breaks and multiple flavours of house from progressive to Trade-era hard house all whilst drawing influence from the sounds rooted in the UK scene from which he came. The past year has seen notable growth in Papa Nugs’ artistic development, both a producer and DJ. Now a Rinse FM resident, he has also played a number of critical festivals and venues including Glastonbury, Gottwood, Fabric, Twisted, The Cause & fledgling Madruga Festival. The upcoming months mark an exciting shift in the Nuggys’ output as a producer too with his sound moving towards a four to the floor interpretation of the aforementioned records he’s been digging. Releases are slated for reputable imprints RAND Muzik & D.Tiffany’s Planet Euphorique along with contributions to WARNING Berlin and Semi Delicious that will ensure if you’re still unfamiliar with him, you won’t be for long.

Pixie Lane

With her electrifying performances and dynamic approach to house music, Pixie Lane has established herself as a prominent artist in the New Zealand House Music scene. Her contagious energy has made her a household name, with a residency on George FM and appearances at some of the country's biggest clubs and festivals, including Rhythm & Vines, Hidden Valley, Mardi Gras, and Bay Dreams.

Pixie Lane's innovative style combines deep and tech house with funky grooves, electro, and bass, creating a sound that is uniquely her own. Her carefully curated sets take her audience on a journey through a variety of subgenres, with unexpected twists and turns that leave the crowd breathless. Her ability to move and inspire her audiences is a testament to her talent as a standout performer.

Sweet Mix Kids

New Zealand based DJ/Production duo Sweet Mix Kids have performed at some of the worlds coolest parties, clubs and festivals - Coachella, Rhythm & Vines, Melbourne Cup Carnival - and toured supporting or playing private parties for Adele, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Netsky, Flume, Coldplay, Deadmau5, Schoolboy Q, Empire Of The Sun, Marshmello, Rae Sremmurd & Martin Garrix.

Growing up singing and playing musical instruments, Tizza was engulfed into the world of music from a young age. Hand-picked to play her debut set on the Cellar stage at Rhythm and Vines in 2020, she's has gone from strength to strength as a quadruple threat – she adds vocalist, guitarist and song writing to her list of talents and can be heard spinning on the airwaves of George FM, Saturday night 7-8pm.

Theres a Tuesday

‘Highschool besties–frontwomen Minnie Robberds and Nat Hutton, drummer Gus Murray and bassist Joel Becker–have graduated from jamming in their living rooms to thrashing at renowned local festivals and stadiums. There’s A Tuesday have created a haven for tender listeners, marrying their fervent lyricism with their idyllic indie pop sound.

The band’s debut EP, ‘Dance With Me Before We Cry’ established their stake in the local music scene. Its tuneful testimonies of the human experience welcomed considerable attention from music enthusiasts and industry veterans alike. Sincethen, the band has received an influx of prestigious nominations and awards from musical legacies such as Rolling Stone, Recorded Music New Zealand (Aotearoa Music Awards) and Australasian Performing Rights Association (Silver Scroll Awards) where they were part of the top 5.

There’s A Tuesday has continued to enchant their expanding audience, being included on festival lineups of Laneway, Rhythm and Vines, Rhythm and Alps and beyond. During their Rhythm and Alps performance in 2020, the band captured the heart of international alt-pop sweetheart BENEE, who personally recruited the band for her growing label, Olive Records. The band has since released and toured their sophomore project, Boy Scout-featuring Girl At Night. The EP honoured their signature sound, embracing fans in their melodic solace. The band’s impressive trajectory has also warranted opening slots locally and internationally, performing for international powerhouses Conan Gray, BENEE, Spacey Jane, The Beths and more.

Their latest single ‘Familiar’ kickstarted the next era for There’s a Tuesday. Nat describes the song as a familiar account: “meeting someone for the first time but feeling like you’ve known them before. Fans can expect a big year for There’s a Tuesday in 2024 with plenty of exciting things in the pipeline.

Vana

Vana is the red haired pop incendiary whose music is fueled by dark femininity and villainous themes such as lust, jealousy love and revenge. Soft and feminine vocals paired with hard hitting gritty bass and screaming electric guitar gives Vana her lean yet unmistakable sound that leaves listeners craving more.

With notable platforms on Tiktok, Twitch and Instagram, Vana is passionate about connecting with her supporters and encourages listeners to connect with her personality as much as her music, although her most raw emotions are shared through her musicianship. Her passion with the guitar and roots in early emo and rock music play a distinctive role in her songwriting and mark the beginnings of a trailblazer in the genres of Dark Trap and Synth pop.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Vana fiercely represents the totality that is the queer experience. Her independent debut single “You’re Not the Only One” not only dives into these themes but does so holistically creating a profoundly relatable listening experience like few before it.

0800

Auckland hip-hop collective 0800 formed when a group of rappers, producers and visual artists came together one late night in the studio. This quickly turned into the group releasing a dynamic string of singles and eye catching videos over the next two years. The group bonded over their mutual love for the alternative hip hop scene, but also each brought in their own unique tastes from other styles, creating a sound that is genre-defying and refreshingly different.

ANI SAAFA

Ani Saafa are a four piece band out of Ōtepoti Dunedin - Stanley, Josh, Logan & Erik. Following the release of Stanley’s EP (Leith’s Corner), Josh and Logan join the team and starting playing gigs midway through 2022. While Logan has been drumming since the start of the band, his guitar skills are to die for so Erik joined Ani Saafa in early 2023, meaning that the boys could utilise Logan’s hot fingers! Their latest single ‘Stay for a Little’ is energetic, upbeat and fantastic for all occasions. Watch this space! Big things are coming.

BOASTEEZE

Boasteeze is addicted to the bass. Raised here in Christchurch, she is definitely one to watch. She began mixing in November 2021 whilst hanging out with friends & could not resist the urge to dive in head first into the world of djing. Supporting acts such as Skantia, Jappa, Amplify, Disrupta and T95.

Boasteeze has always had an interest in being a DJ but had only recently taken the leap thanks to being surrounded by like minded & supportive friends Boasteeze’s unique sound comes from a mixture of Garage, 140 & various styles of deep dark drum & bass, focusing on crazy blends inspired by artists such as Alix Perez, Drone, Interplanetary criminal, Chase & Status & Waeys.

Boasteeze aims to inspire & uplift fellow females into taking up opportunities to learn, to bring something unique to the scene & to remind others that you can do anything you set your mind to!

Convex Collective

Freshly formed and from either side of the cook straight, MONT, LUCA, FLEET & MDMJ combine to form the multi genre collective Convex Collect. House, Techno or Garage, the boys throw down whatever Otautahi needs moving from the flats to the main stage.

DJ Spinal

It wouldn’t be ORI without the man, the myth, the legend - DJ SPINAL. He has been a staple over the past few years, throwing down bangers old and new to keep the students happy. Make sure you get your tickets to see this man in the flesh!

Emilie

Christchurch DJ/ Producer Emilie is vastly proving a force to be reckoned with in the UKG scene Christchurch and beyond, with no slowing down in sight.

With the success of her debut garage single ‘Generations’, a Speed garage/ bassline based track. To date the track has been playlisted and featured on the well known radio station George FM, charted top 4 with NZ official music hottest hits charts and a Shazam tender, it's exciting to see what is to come from Emilie.

In her short time as an artist she’s already had the opportunity to play at two festivals and support some amazing artists to name a few favourites; Effy, Main Phase, Interplanetary Criminal and Loods. 2023 and beyond you’ll be seeing a lot more of Emilie as she rises to the top.

Fleeced

Fleeced, the alias of Otautahi-based Damien Bolliger and Sam Barty, electrifies the rave with their productions and selections drawing inspiration from techno, UK bass, and the classics.

Notable releases include their UKG-inspired bootleg of A$AP Rocky’s “Praise The Lord”, which has amassed over 6,000 streams on Soundcloud, and original track “Not A Gangsta” a gritty electro stomper released on Otautahi-based record label Echo Train Records.

Within their come up, Fleeced have already supported Effy, and Kedu Carlo, and have been booked at the likes of Hide Club and Flux. Over the summer period they were booked to play at festivals including Rolling Meadows and Hidden Lakes.

2023 is looking promising already with a number of international support slots locked in and productions in the works to release. They are true carvers of their own path and refuse to be categorised by genre. While they are a great contender for anything 4 to the floor, Fleeced’s sets will always be infused with a healthy dose of surprises guaranteed to mash up the dance.

Geo

Originally formed in Wellington, Frank On Tap quickly found their feet selling out headline shows and successfully completing an NZ tour, whilst gathering a loyal fanbase. They released a number of singles over the summer of 2022/23 which hinted to an exciting new sound. Frank On Tap relocated to Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) in early 2023 and have been busy in the studio, looking to release a 5 song EP in December 2023.

Hot Sauce Club

Hot Sauce Club are a dynamic five-piece band hailing from Ōtepoti (Dunedin), whose music embodies the vibrant spirit of their surroundings and experiences. Inspired by the iconic 'Dunedin Sound' era and contemporary indie rock acts, they create a captivating fusion of sounds within the expansive 'alternative/indie rock' genre. Known for their high-energy performances, Hot Sauce Club has secured coveted spots on prestigious line-ups, including supporting international heavyweight’s Skeggs on their NZ tour, headline touring NZ, and sharing stages with diverse acts on NZ festival lineups. Prepare to be captivated by Hot Sauce Club's unmistakable sound and electrifying presence as they make their mark on the alternative and indie scene.

Hursty

Introducing Josh, a 22 year old DJ better known as Hursty. Bringing a mix of dynamic, high-energy sets blending dancefloor and jump-up anthems, Hursty has already made a name for himself in the local scene supporting S.P.Y. Now, he's gearing up to hit the stage at ORI to help make it a night to remember.

Kinect B2B Ignition

From mixing together in the halls, to now sharing a stage together for an event, Ignition and KINECT are fizzing to show what they love to do. Having a love for everything 120 to 174bpm, they will for sure be ready to mix some BIG tunes to keep you moving.

Pool House

Pool House is a 4-piece indie-rock band from Ōtautahi (Christchurch), New Zealand. The band is made up of old friends who came together to play their first show in place of a cancelled Tea Party.

Since bursting into the Christchurch university scene, Pool House have been performing memorable, high energy shows throughout Christchurch, Dunedin, and Queenstown.

SLICE

Slice is a groovy house and funky garage DJ who loves to dance. Following in her brother’s footsteps, she has pursued DJing whilst studying at the University of Canterbury for a bit of fun! Within her first year she has opened at Hide Club, played at The Foundry and UCSA Tea Party.

As she continues on her mixing journey she hopes to keep improving and really master her skills. With DJ idols in the likes of Sin, Honey Dijon, Girls don’t sync and Beccie B she aims for equality and inclusion within this community for all gender minority and rainbow DJs. All in order for everyone to enjoy her sets and have a good boogie in a safe space where they feel celebrated!

Smouse

20 year old student DJ Shamus “SMOUSE” Smith brings the very best of bass music to the dance floor. Born and bred in the 03, SMOUSE has been swiftly making a name for himself in the Christchurch dance music scene. Expect your socks to be blown off as SMOUSE takes the stage at ORI

Two Minds

From the beginnings of a flat party in Christchurch and a shared love of dance music, to an internationally recognised record label and a music festival, what twominds is will always be evolving; a fire that keeps on burning. Where this progression will take us, we don’t know. But we’re excited to keep it moving forward…

From its inception, twominds has always prioritised artistic expression - in all facets. Performing DJ sets are just another opportunity to execute this.
