University of Canterbury Sri Lankan Society

The club is dedicated to sharing the richness of Sri Lankan culture with the university. As there is currently no Sri Lankan club on campus, we aim to fill in that slot by creating a home away from home for Sri Lankans and anyone that wants to experience our culture.

We are planning on hosting 3 major events

Sinhala and Tamil New Year
Baila Night
Sports Event (Cricket Match / Football Game)

Along with all these, we will be running regular smaller events (weekly or fortnightly) to help students relax and have a bit of fun. These range from game nights to small competitions.

We offer a friendly space to meet new people, experience our culture, enjoy the food, and build a strong community. Whether students are from Sri Lanka, or simply interested in Sri Lankan culture, the club is open to all!
