Canterbury University Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CUBJJ), established in 2022 and affectionately referred to as CUBJJ (pronounced Cub-Gee). This dynamic student club warmly welcomes individuals of all skill levels, catering to both seasoned BJJ practitioners and those brand new to the art. Whether you're looking to explore the world of BJJ, enhance your fitness, or acquire effective self-defence skills, we invite you to join us and experience the excitement firsthand!

Our dedicated training sessions, specifically tailored for beginners, occur three times a week, providing a supportive environment for skill development. Additionally, we offer open mats for more experienced practitioners, fostering a space for continuous growth and refinement of techniques. For those seeking a competitive edge, CUBJJ provides valuable opportunities to participate in competitions.

Canterbury University, Massey University, and University of Auckland go head-to-head in a world first university submission grappling competition. Hosted by Canterbury University, the tournament shall take place 24th August in the Rec Centre.
