(from 1983) The University Judo Club trains twice a week at the Rec Centre, usually on Tuesdays and Saturdays. If you have ever considered taking up a martial art, now may be your opportunity! 
Judo is a disciplinary sport and can benefit you in many ways. It develops fitness and strenght, improves coordination, balance and timing. It differs from other martial arts in that Judo techniques consists mainly of throws, strangles and arm bars. Whether you want to be a purely social player or a competitive player, the judo club is well equipped to cater for both. There are frequent competitions, including some particularly organized for the benefit of lower grades.
