Canterbury Services Society

The Canterbury Services Society supports military and emergency service personnel and veterans studying at the University of Canterbury. We are open to veterans, current serving military or emergency services personnel, as well as to those interested in a career focused on serving New Zealand.

Our Society aims to assist service personnel who often have a unique background due to their current or previous careers. Many either have extra responsibilities on top of regular study or are transitioning into civilian life through university.

We will host social, academic, and resilience-building events to support our membership

The aim of CSS is to:

1. Promote Canterbury Services Society within the University of Canterbury campus and the wider community.
2. Support current and past service people to acclimatise to civilian life, in particular with member’s endeavours through tertiary education.
3. To support any members that are interested in either joining, or progressing through, a services career.
4. To create an environment and camaraderie that honours member’s current and/or past services/sacrifices in the service of our communities and society.
