Students can find it very hard making friends outside of their degree due to most clubs being for a specific degree. This means students are not always getting the opportunity to meet people outside of their specific degree. On the other hand, most of the other clubs are for a specific sport or a specific hobby. This can make it challenging for some students who don't have a hobby or sport to meet new friends and engage in new opportunities. UC Womens Collective doesn't limit the interests, degrees or hobbies when it comes to meeting new people and trying new experiences.

We want to ensure we have a mix of social and academic events to help students in both their university work and their personal lives. An event we are excited about hosting is a sunset picnic at the beach for students to destress from university work and meet new people. Well being is a very important value to our club as work, university and other life problems can be very challenging and stressful on students throughout the year. Our club wants to help minimise this as much as possible. Other events we want to host are workshops that guide students through job interviews, LinkedIn profiles, CV and cover letters etc. We want students to be set up for the workforce and take that added pressure off of them. We also want to host sessions where older students can help first and second years with any school work or advice they might need. Likewise we also think group study sessions would be a great way to help students make new friends and benefit their school work. With this club not being degree specific, we will have a range of members that can befriend people that might/might've been in the same class as eachother to help one another.

Students should join our club to meet likeminded people like themselves to secure life long friendships, destress and improve their university life.
