Run 72

Tuesday 23 September 2025

4pm - 4pm

C-Block Lawn

RUN72 is an annual community event to raise funds and awareness for men’s mental health. During the event, University of Canterbury students and members of the Christchurch community take to the pavement around UC to run for 72 hours, ensuring that there is always at least one person moving around the course.

The extraordinary effort was designed to draw attention to the fact that men made up 72% of suicides in New Zealand. Since the start of RUN72 in 2021, this statistic has risen to 76%, a clear sign that male suicide deserves more attention this year than ever before.

This year we are aiming to raise $100,072. Funds raised this year will go towards boosting our support fund and supporting Lads without Labels 2026 operations and beyond, allowing us to continue delivering high-quality events and initiatives.

This year, runners will be lapping the course from 4pm on Tuesday the 23rd of September to 4pm Friday the 26th.

For RUN72 2025, we want more people on the ground, we want more laps run, and we want to raise more awareness. Ultimately, we want what New Zealand needs - to lower the statistic. RUN72 is our way of helping NZ, we invite you to support us and participate.
