How You Can Help

Become a Friend of The Ngaio Marsh Theatre

Student life is all about living, learning and creating memories. By becoming a Friend of the Ngaio Marsh Theatre and Performance Centre you will help future students create experiences that will shape them.

The UCSA is inviting alumni and supporters of the University to donate to the construction and fit out of the new Ngaio Marsh Theatre to recognise its importance to the student experience and local community. The Theatre has been designed with both students and the wider community in mind. It is a flexible space with the ability to host 300 people seated or 1,000 standing when the purpose-designed seats are retracted.

The Theatre is:

  • the home of Dramasoc, Musoc, up-and-coming artists, and community and school performances;
  • a central meeting place for students to come together in support of causes they care about;
  • a space to foster the activity of the UCSA’s 130 clubs;
  • a place for the Student Volunteer Army to coordinate action from and connect with the community; and
  • central to key University, student and local community events.

All Friends of the Ngaio Marsh Theatre will receive their name on the new building's recognition wall, as well as on-going opportunities to attend UCSA and UC events, regular updates on the build and news and information from the University's alumni team.

The first 300 Friends who commit their support to the UCSA will also receive a limited edition key ring made from wood salvaged from the original Ngaio Marsh Theatre.

Become a Lifetime Partner of the UCSA

By becoming a Lifetime Partner of the UCSA you will be recognised with permanent visibility options within the new UCSA building, providing opportunities for your business to engage with students long into the future.

Further benefits will also be tailored to suit contribution levels.

Your financial support will help fund spaces and chattels within the new UCSA building. You can pledge your commitment today and complete it in instalments over a negotiable period of up to three years, supported with a completed gift or sponsorship agreement.

Significant Giving Opportunities

A major financial contribution from an individual or group of donors provides the opportunity to support and engage with students for years to come. Significant gifts will help to fund spaces and chattels within the new building. Pledges can be made today and the commitment fulfilled in instalments over a negotiable period of up to three years with a gift or sponsorship agreement.

We will tailor benefit and recognition packages suitable to the contribution, dependant on your level of giving. This could include visible acknowledgements in supported spaces, on-going engagement opportunities with the UCSA and UC, recognition at the building's opening ceremony and PR and publication opportunities
