Promotion Terms and Conditions

Promotional Period

  1. The promoter of this promotion, being one (1) House of Travel travel voucher valued at NZD $12,000 including GST and airline tax and fees (Grand Prize), is the University of Canterbury Students Association (UCSA), UCSA Main Office, Haere-roa, 90 Ilam Road, Christchurch, New Zealand (Promoter).  Any questions relating to this promotion should be referred to media@ucsa.org.nz.
  2. The promotional period commences at 9:00 am on 18 March 2026 and closes at 10:00 am on 22 April 2026 (Promotional Period).
  3. The prize provider for this promotion is Suntory Beverage and Food New Zealand Ltd (Prize Provider).
  4. This promotion is run in association with the Participating Stores. A participating store is any University of Canterbury (UoC) campus store displaying promotional materials for this promotion during the Promotional Period. This may include the following retail stores on the UoC campus: Cafe 1894, Chilton's, Collective Cafe, Nuts & Bolts, Oishii, Otto, Foundry and the Undercroft Foodcourt (Burgatory, El Kiosco, Umami Spice & Rice) (Participating Stores).
  5. Any questions relating to the promotion should be directed to media@ucsa.org.nz.

Method of Entry

  1. This promotion is only open to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents who are currently enrolled UoC students, aged 18 years and over. 
  2. The following individuals are ineligible to enter: 
    1. Members of the UCSA Student Executive;
    2. Employees and volunteers of the Promoter;
    3. Employees of the Prize Provider; and 
    4. The immediate families of any such individuals.  Immediate family includes: spouse, ex‑spouse, de facto partner, child or stepchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, step‑grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, sibling, step‑sibling or first cousin.
  3. To enter, entrants must, during the Promotional Period: 
    1. Purchase any two (2) V Energy products in a single transaction from a Participating Store (while stocks last) (Qualifying Purchase) to share with mates. Entrants must retain a purchase receipt for each Qualifying Purchase as proof of purchase. 
    2. Ensure the entry form is stamped by the store employee at the time of the purchase as proof of a valid Qualifying Purchase. In the event a stamp is not obtained at the time of making the Qualifying Purchase, it is the entrant's responsibility to obtain one; and
    3. Complete all required details (full name, student ID, address, email, contact number) and place the stamped form into a specifically marked entry box at the Participating Store where the Qualifying Purchase was made during the Promotional Period.
  4. Failure to obtain the stamp verifying the Qualifying Purchase will invalidate the entry and result in forfeiture or any right to claim the Grand Prize.
  5. Multiple entries are permitted, subject to the following:
    1. One (1) entry per Qualifying Purchase; 
    2. Each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; and
    3. Each entrant may enter only one (1) Qualifying Purchase per day.
  6. The Promoter may verify the validity of entries and may disqualify entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions. The Promoter's decisions, and the decision of its agents, on all matters relating to this promotion are final and binding.
  7. The Promoter may amend, suspend or cancel any aspect of the promotion (including but not limited to any Grand Prize or Promotional period) at any time in its sole discretion.

Grand Prize

  1. There is one (1) Grand Prize to be won during the Promotional Period. The Grand Prize does not include:
    1. Spending money and personal expenses including but not limited to food, in-room charges, transport and transfers and all other ancillary costs;
    2. fuel surcharges, levies, ticketing taxes and ground operator handling fees;
    3. Travel insurance;
    4. fees or costs issued by a Grand Prize Supplier (as defined within the terms and conditions) issued after confirmation of the travel booking; and
    5. frequent flyer points of a selected airline.
  2. Grand Prize conditions: 
    1. The winner and all accompanying travellers (if any) must meet the entry requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions.
    2. All travellers must depart from and return to the same departure point and must travel together.  
    3. The winner is responsible for collecting the Grand Prize from Haere-roa, 90 Ilam Road. The Grand Prize must be collected by 5:00pm on 21 May 2026 by the winner.  
    4. The Grand Prize is not transferable, changeable or redeemable for cash or for any other goods, services or consideration of any kind. 
    5. If the Grand Prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. 
    6. Acceptance of the Grand Prize is conditional on all persons travelling accepting the travel supplier terms and conditions. Failure to accept those terms will result in forfeiture of the Grand Prize.  
    7. The winner and their travel companions must comply with all applicable laws at the destination, including but not limited to laws regarding the legal drinking age and age-restricted venue requirements.
    8. All bookings must be made via the Promoter’s chosen agent(s) (Grand Prize Supplier) at least 45 days prior to departure and is subject to flight and booking availability. 
    9. The Grand Prize is awarded subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant Grand Prize Supplier. The Promoter and the Grand Prize Supplier are not responsible for any failure by the winner to accept, take, utilise or redeem the Grand Prize (or any element of it). Any failure to do so, once the Grand Prize has been booked, confirmed or otherwise made available, will result in automatic forfeiture, with no cash, credit or other alternative. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the Prize Provider, Promoter nor the Grand Prize Supplier shall be liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from such forfeiture.
    10. The winner may be required to present a credit card at check-in.
    11. The winner and travel companions may be required to sign a legal release as determined by the Promoter and/or Prize Provider, in their sole discretion, prior to receiving the Grand Prize.
    12. Travel insurance is not included in the Grand Prize. The winner and travel companions must arrange and hold valid travel insurance prior to departure. The winner and travel companions may be required to provide proof of travel insurance to the Promoter or its Grand Prize Supplier upon request.
    13. The winner is solely responsible for complying with all travel‑related legal and health requirements applicable to the travel destination. International travel advice is available from relevant local government agencies or consular offices.
    14. The Promoter and its agents, are not responsible for any changes to travel plans due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to flight cancellations, border closures, pandemics or epidemics or due to government regulations. The winner will be solely responsible for any additional costs arising from these changes.
  3. All travel is subject to these terms and conditions. Any travelling companion accepts these terms, conditions and restrictions as if references to the winner in the relevant clauses were to the travelling companion. 

Grand Prize Contest and Winner

  1. Ten (10) valid entries will be drawn by the Promoter at random from all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period.
  2. The draw will take place on 22 April 2026. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries.
  3. The first ten (10) valid entries drawn will be the contestants (together the Contestants or if one a Contestant) eligible to compete in the Grand Prize Contest to win the Grand Prize. The Contestants will be notified on 22 April 2026. 
  4. Contestants must be available to participate in the Grand Prize Contest to be held at Haere-roa, 90 Ilam Road on 7 May 2026, where the Grand Prize winner will be determined upon completion of the Grand Prize Contest. Contestants must participate in all challenges forming part of the Grand Prize Contest, as explained at the finalists’ briefing on 30 April 2026 (Finalist’s Briefing) and at the induction on the contest day (Grand Prize Contest).
  5. To participate in the Grand Prize Contest, the Contestants agree to:
    1. Comply with all rules, requirements and directions notified or made available by the Promoter in connection with and for the participation in the Grand Prize Contest;
    2. Comply with all applicable health and safety requirements, policies, procedures and directions notified by the Promoter before and during participation in the Grand Prize Contest; and
    3. will sign a waiver and medical release form which must be returned to UCSA by 4:00pm on 1 May 2026 (additional details will be provided at a later date). Failure to do so will result in the Contestant not being permitted to participate in the Grand Prize Contest and may result in another participant to be chosen at random,
    and any failure to comply with this clause 20 may result in being withdrawn from the Grand Prize Contest without compensation. 
  6. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a Contestant to take part in any or all aspects of any prize of the Grand Prize Event if the Promoter determines, in its absolute discretion, that a Contestant is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate.
  7. In the event that an ineligible entry is drawn, or the Promoter is unable to contact the Contestant within three (3) working days of first attempting to notify the Contestant, having made reasonable attempts to do so, the Promoter may deem that Contestant's entry invalid and select a new Contestant on the same terms as the original entry.
  8. Each entrant may only win the chance to enter the Grand Prize Contest once. If an entrant is drawn out multiple times, the entry will be forfeited and will be redrawn, and a new Contestant will be determined from the remaining valid entries.

General Terms and Conditions

  1. By entering into this promotion the entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and acknowledges that they have complied with all of their obligations under these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to deem any entry void should an entrant fail to comply with any of these Terms and Conditions. 
  2. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree and consent to the Promoter and Prize Provider to use the winner's details for promotional and media purposes without compensation, and any copyright will vest in the Promoter and Prize Provider.  The entrant grants a perpetual, non-exclusive royalty-free license to the Promotor and Prize Provider to use and sublicense the use of any copyright (including future copyright) in and to any entry submitted. 
  3. The Promoter makes no representation as to safety, conditions and other issues that may exist at any destination and the winner should seek their own travel advice. The winner accepts the Grand Prize and all travel associated is at their own risk. 
  4. The Promoter reserves to disqualify any entry or refuse to award the Grand Prize or a chance to enter the Grand Prize Contest where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent, dishonest or disruptive manner, or otherwise in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or the spirit of the promotion.
  5. Except where required by law, the Promoter and Prize Provider excludes all liability (including negligence) for any loss, damage, personal injury or costs arising out of the promotion or use of the Grand Prize, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, the following: 
    1. Any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control); 
    2. Any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
    3. Any entry or Grand Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected; 
    4. Any variation in the Grand Prize;
    5. Any tax liability incurred by a claimant or entrant; or 
    6. Use of the Grand Prize.
  6. As a condition of participating, the winner and Contestants indemnifies the Promoter, its agents, Prize Provider and all associated organisers with this promotion against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including costs on a solicitor-client basis) arising out of participation in the promotion or use of the Grand Prize.
  7. The winner consents to the Promoter, and those associated with the promotion including but not limited to the Prize Provider, collecting and hold personal information for the purposes of notifying the entrants and winner and facilitating redemption of the Grand Prize. The Promoter and Prize Provider may pass the winners’ personal details to their agencies and associated organisations for the purpose of facilitating the Grand Prize and to conduct this promotion and otherwise in accordance with the entrants’ consent and applicable privacy law. Under the Privacy Act 2002, entrants may access and request correction of their personal information by emailing media@ucsa.org.nz.
  8. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any time does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  9. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
