Warm Pacific greetings everyone, and welcome to Term Four! I hope you all had an awesome break, full of family time, rest, and fun. I want to kick things off by giving a big shoutout to our Pacific graduates who attended the University and Pacific graduation ceremonies last term. It was so uplifting to see our people reaching such amazing milestones in their journeys.

I’m also excited to welcome and congratulate our newly elected UCSA Pacific Representative for 2025, Tumaru Mataio-Togia! From next year, Tumaru will be your voice, making sure our Pacific student community is heard and represented in decisions at UC | Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha. Huge congratulations, Tumaru!

As we dive into this final term of the year, the UCSA and Pacific Development Team have some awesome events lined up just for you. Make sure to keep an eye on our socials so you don’t miss out!

Term Four can be a busy and challenging time for many of our students, so please take full advantage of the support services available. Be sure to check out the links below for more information.

That’s it from me—it’s been a pleasure working with you all this year. Let’s finish strong and make the most of this final term!

Vinaka vakalevu,

Ezra
UCSA Pacific Representative

Need Support?

The UCSA offer a range of services that are independent of UC, and our friendly team can support you to navigate the university system or work with you if you need welfare support.

The A&W team can help with:

  • Advocacy
  • Class Reps
  • Dental
  • Financial Assistance
  • Pathseekers Programme
  • Student Assistance
  • Wellbeing

The services are available free of charge to all currently enrolled UC students. Students who access the service have several rights and responsibilities. This year we are excited to announce, that the UCSA has expanded its dental coverage so be sure to grab a voucher, released online every Monday at 8:30 (limited quantities are released each week so get it early).
