Tea Party VIP Experience with Pepsi Promotion Terms and Conditions


    Promotional Period

  1. The promoter of this promotion, being four (4) winners of five (5) UCSA VIP Tea Party tickets (Grand Prize), is the University of Canterbury Students Association (UCSA), UCSA Main Office, Haere-roa, 90 Ilam Road, Christchurch, New Zealand (Promoter). Any questions relating to this promotion should be referred to media@ucsa.org.nz.
  2. The promotional period commences at 10:00 am on 3 September 2026 and closes at 10:00 am on 12 October 2026 (Promotional Period).
  3. The Sponsor for this promotion is UCSA together with PepsiCo, Suntory Beverage & Food New Zealand Ltd (NZBN: 9429000009478) & New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) (the “Sponsor”). For the avoidance of doubt, the role played by the Sponsor in this promotion is only limited to providing the sponsorship benefits and is not the promoter, administrator or operator of this Promotion.
  4. This promotion is run in association with the Participating Stores. A participating store is any University of Canterbury (UoC) campus store displaying promotional materials for this promotion during the Promotional Period. This may include the following retail stores on the UoC campus: Chilton's, Nuts & Bolts, and the Undercroft Foodcourt (Burgatory, El Kiosco, Umami Spice & Rice) (Participating Stores).
  5. Any questions relating to the promotion should be directed to media@ucsa.org.nz.

  6. Method of Entry

  7. This promotion is only open to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents who are currently enrolled UoC students, aged 18 years and over.
  8. The following individuals are ineligible to enter:
    1. Members of the UCSA Student Executive;
    2. Employees and volunteers of the Promoter or the Sponsor;
    3. Employees of the Prize Provider; and
    4. The immediate families of any such individuals. Immediate family includes: spouse, ex‑spouse, de facto partner, child or stepchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, step‑grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, sibling, step‑sibling or first cousin.
  9. To enter, entrants must, during the Promotional Period:
    1. Purchase any one (1) Pepsi product (Pepsi, Pepsi Max, 7UP and, or Mountain Dew) in a single transaction from a Participating Store (while stocks last) (Qualifying Purchase) and scan their V Plate. Entrants must retain a purchase receipt for each Qualifying Purchase as proof of purchase.
    2. In the event a that the entrants V Plate is not scanned at the time of making the Qualifying Purchase, it is the entrant's responsibility to do so.
  10. Failure to scan V Plate verifying the Qualifying Purchase will invalidate the entry and result in forfeiture or any right to claim the Grand Prize.
  11. Multiple entries are permitted, subject to the following:
    1. One (1) entry per Qualifying Purchase;
    2. Each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; and
    3. Each entrant may enter only one (1) Qualifying Purchase per day.
  12. The Promoter may verify the validity of entries and may disqualify entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions. The Promoter's decisions, and the decision of its agents, on all matters relating to this promotion are final and binding.
  13. The Promoter may amend, suspend or cancel any aspect of the promotion (including but not limited to any Grand Prize or Promotional period) at any time in its sole discretion.

  14. Grand Prize

  15. There are four (4) Grand Prizes to be won during the Promotional Period. The Grand Prize does not include:
    1. Spending money and personal expenses including but not limited to food, in-room charges, transport and transfers and all other ancillary costs;
    2. fees or costs issued by a Grand Prize Supplier (as defined within the terms and conditions) issued after confirmation of prize acceptance
  16. Grand Prize conditions:
    1. The winner and all accompanying attendees (if any) must meet the entry requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions, and any other terms and conditions shared at the point of prize acceptance.
    2. The winner is responsible for collecting the Grand Prize from Haere-roa, 90 Ilam Road. The Grand Prize must be collected by 5:00pm on 14 October 2026 by the winner.
    3. The Grand Prize is not transferable, changeable or redeemable for cash or for any other goods, services or consideration of any kind.
    4. If the Grand Prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
    5. Acceptance of the Grand Prize is conditional on all persons attending the event accepting the event terms and conditions. Failure to accept those terms will result in forfeiture of the Grand Prize.
    6. The winner and their companions must comply with all applicable laws including but not limited to laws regarding health and safety, the legal drinking age and age-restricted venue requirements.
    7. The Grand Prize is awarded subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant Grand Prize Supplier. The Promoter and the Grand Prize Supplier are not responsible for any failure by the winner to accept, take, utilise or redeem the Grand Prize (or any element of it). Any failure to do so, once the Grand Prize has been confirmed or otherwise made available, will result in automatic forfeiture, with no cash, credit or other alternative. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the Prize Provider, Promoter nor the Grand Prize Supplier shall be liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from such forfeiture.
    8. The winner and companions may be required to sign a legal release as determined by the Promoter and/or Prize Provider, in their sole discretion, prior to receiving the Grand Prize.
    9. The winner and their companions are solely responsible for complying with all related legal and health requirements applicable to the event and all directions given by the Promoter and Prize Providers (as applicable).
    10. The Promoter and the Sponsor and their agents, are not responsible for any changes to the event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to event cancellations, border closures, pandemics or epidemics or due to government regulations. The winner will be solely responsible for any additional costs arising from these changes.
  17. Attendance is subject to these terms and conditions. Any companion accepts these terms, conditions and restrictions as if references to the winner in the relevant clauses were to the companion.

  18. Grand Prize Contest and Winner

  19. Four (4) valid entries will be drawn by the Promoter at random from all eligible entries received during the Promotional Period.
  20. The draw will take place on 12 October 2026 by no later than 12pm. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries.
  21. The first four (4) valid entries drawn will be the winners (together the Winners or if one a Winner) eligible to compete in the Grand Prize Contest to win the Grand Prize. The Winners will be notified on 12 October 2026.
  22. Contestants must be available to attend Tea Party to be held at the University of Canterbury on 17 October 2026.
  23. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a Winner or companion to take part in any or all aspects of any prize of the Grand Prize Event if the Promoter determines, in its absolute discretion, that a Winner or Companion is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate.
  24. In the event that an ineligible entry is drawn, or the Promoter is unable to contact the Contestant within two (2) working days of first attempting to notify the Contestant, having made reasonable attempts to do so, the Promoter may deem that Contestant's entry invalid and select a new Contestant on the same terms as the original entry.
  25. Each entrant may only win the Grand Prize once. If an entrant is drawn multiple times, the entry will be forfeited and will be redrawn, and a new Winner will be determined from the remaining valid entries.

  26. General Terms and Conditions

  27. By entering into this promotion the entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and acknowledges that they have complied with all of their obligations under these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to deem any entry void should an entrant fail to comply with any of these Terms and Conditions.
  28. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree and consent to the Promoter, Sponsor and Prize Provider to use the winner's details for promotional and media purposes without compensation, and any copyright will vest in the Promoter, Sponsor and Prize Provider. The entrant grants a perpetual, non-exclusive royalty-free license to the Promotor, Sponsor and Prize Provider to use and sublicense the use of any copyright (including future copyright) in and to any entry submitted. The Promoter reserves to disqualify any entry or refuse to award the Grand Prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent, dishonest or disruptive manner, or otherwise in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or the spirit of the promotion.
  29. Except where required by law, the Promoter, Sponsor and Prize Provider excludes all liability (including negligence) for any loss, damage, personal injury or costs arising out of the promotion or use of the Grand Prize, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, the following:
    1. Any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control);
    2. Any theft, unauthorised access or interference;
    3. Any entry or Grand Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected;
    4. Any variation in the Grand Prize;
    5. Any tax liability incurred by a claimant or entrant; or
    6. Use of the Grand Prize.
  30. As a condition of participating, the winner indemnifies the Promoter and the Sponsor, their agents, Prize Provider and all associated organisers with this promotion against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including costs on a solicitor-client basis) arising out of participation in the promotion or use of the Grand Prize.
  31. The winner consents to the Promoter, and those associated with the promotion including but not limited to the Prize Provider, and Sponsor collecting and hold personal information for the purposes of notifying the entrants and winner and facilitating redemption of the Grand Prize. The Promoter, Sponsor and Prize Provider may pass the winners’ personal details to their agencies and associated organisations for the purpose of facilitating the Grand Prize and to conduct this promotion and otherwise in accordance with the entrants’ consent and applicable privacy law. Under the Privacy Act 2002, entrants may access and request correction of their personal information by emailing media@ucsa.org.nz.
  32. Failure by the Promoter, or Sponsor to enforce any of its rights at any time does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  33. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
