    Fluorescent Lighting at UC

I have heard a lot of talk about trying to include the neurodivergent community more around the UC campus. As someone who struggles with some of these issues, I have been surprised that no one has mentioned the bright lighting. Whether a person has a neurological disorder from birth, or acquired later in life, bright white/fluorescent lights can bring on severe symptoms. Most days, I do not come to uni for this reason, instead choosing to watch lectures from home. This is great and I don't mind, but I'm sure there are people in a similar situation who do. I study often in Engcore and always find it a little bit funny to see all of the bits of paper covering the lights in the booths- It's clearly not just a neurodivergent issue! Headaches, fatigue, sore and blurry eyes can all be signs you're studying in light that's a bit too bright ;)
