International Students Advisory Group

What is it?

The UCSA International Student Advisory Group (IAG) is a mechanism to aid and support the International Representative on the UCSA Executive to best represent the needs of all international students at the University of Canterbury. The UCSA IAG will help to ensure all students have a voice within the UCSA, will create a sense of belonging on campus for all student communities and specifically will further assist diversity and inclusivity in the UCSA’s decision making.

Role of the Advisory Group

The UCSA IAG is responsible for providing student feedback to the Executive Committee and Chief Executive regarding international students’ needs and any related issues within the student population. The UCSA IAG’s aim is ensure that the UCSA hears all student voices and initiates actions and programs to create a stronger sense of belonging for all international students on campus.

Post-Graduate Advisory Group

Post-Grad advisory

What is it?

The Post Graduate Advisory Group is a mechanism to aid and support the Post Graduate Representative on the UCSA Executive to best represent the needs of all post graduate students at the University of Canterbury.

Role of the Advisory Group

As per the Charter, the Advisory Group shall meet at least four times a year to provide feedback on post graduate issues and when required on UCSA materials, policies, and events.

The PG Advisory Group is to provide advice and make recommendations on issues and concerns to UCSA Executive Committee, who may in turn take to any relevant UC committees.

Equity & Wellbeing Advisory Group

What is it?

The Equity and Wellbeing Advisory Group (EWAG) is a mechanism to aid and support the Equity and Wellbeing Representative on the UCSA Executive to best represent the needs of all students at the University of Canterbury; to ensure all students have a voice within the UCSA and to further develop diversity and inclusivity in the UCSA's decision making.

Role of the Advisory Group

The UCSA EWAG is responsible for providing advice and making recommendations on issues of culture, diversity and inclusiveness to the Executive Committee.

Additionally, EWAG will provide advice to the student representatives on the UC Central Equity and Diversity Advisory Committee (CEDAC) to enable them to articulate student opinion on diversity and equity issues involving UC.

The UCSA EWAG may also function as a reference group on UCSA materials, policies, and events as well as for CEDAC when looking for student perspective.
